Opportunity Description:
 
The Logistics & Scheduling Manager will report to the Director of Project Management within the Project Management Office but work closely with Tool Support and Inspections to deliver PPIC resources (people and equipment) to the clients’ inspection sites in a timely manner. This includes domestic and international travel and shipping planning.
 
Responsibilities Include: 
·         Allocating staff & equipment resources according to changing needs
·         Liaising and negotiating with PPIC Project Managers to ensure clients’ inspection needs are met by proper scheduling of inspections
·         Monitoring the cost and efficiency of shipments and equipment transport
·         Analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions
·         Tracking, storage and processing of logistics collateral and information
·         Managing contracted drivers, customs broker, and shipping companies
 
Working Conditions:
 
The majority of this work is desk-based with some warehouse support. Regular business hours will be the norm, however, some scheduling is emergency-based and the successful candidate will be required to be on-call when out of office.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Although this area of work is open to all graduates and Diplomats, the following subjects are preferred :
    • transport/distribution/logistics;
    • business/management or business with languages/economics;
    • science and geography;
    • information systems/computing.
  • Experience with international shipping requirements (customs, immigration)
  • The ability to work logically and systematically, with good time management
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills plus the ability to think laterally whilst offering creative solutions
  • IT literacy and the ability to handle electronic data
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage change
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team;
  • Ability to work successfully with staff located across multiple offices
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Detail oriented and proactive with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in the Construction and/or Water/Wastewater Industry is an asset
